THE ANTHROPOCENTRIC APPROACH TO TERMINOLOGY: A LINGUISTIC AND COGNITIVE ANALYSIS IN THE FIELD OF CHEMISTRY

This study investigates the anthropocentric approach to terminology in the context of modern linguistics and cognitive science, with a particular focus on chemistry-related terms. Drawing from theoretical frameworks in anthropolinguistics and cognitive terminology, the paper demonstrates how terminological units are inherently shaped by human cognition, professional experience, and cultural context. We analyze the semantic, structural, and cultural dimensions of terms and discuss the impact of national conceptual frameworks and linguistic memory in terminological systems. Examples from Russian, Uzbek, and English are provided to illustrate how eponymous and metaphorical terms reflect human-centered perception in scientific discourse. The findings support a multidisciplinary and anthropocentric interpretation of scientific terminology, with implications for lexicography, translation, and science education.
