PATHOMORPHOLOGY OF THE ADRENAL GLANDS IN NEWBORNS WITH RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME

This literature review explores the pathomorphological changes in the adrenal glands of newborns with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS). The study focuses on the impact of hypoxia, hormonal imbalances, and stress responses on adrenal gland structure and function. Key findings include adrenal hypertrophy, degenerative changes (such as fatty and hydropic degeneration), impaired microcirculation, and necrotic changes in severe cases.
