FEATURES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE SUKUK MARKET IN THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL MARKET

The primary objective of this study is to assess the current state and evolutionary characteristics of the global sukuk market, taking into account national specificities and its structural components. In order to clearly define the research scope and conduct an in-depth analysis, the leading sukuk markets of Malaysia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, and Qatar were selected for examination. A comprehensive analysis of these countries was carried out based on key parameters, including maturity structure, denomination currency, issuer typology, sectoral affiliation of issuers (including sovereign and corporate entities), as well as the trading platforms on which sukuk instruments are circulated. The findings of the study demonstrate that the distribution of leading and lagging countries varies significantly depending on the applied evaluation criteria, while these rankings do not exhibit direct correlation with one another. Furthermore, the research identifies several countries whose sukuk market conditions differ substantially from the general global trends.
