THE SIGNIFICANCE OF FEDERICO GARCÍA LORCA’S CREATIVE WORK IN THE CULTURE OF 20TH-CENTURY SPAIN

The article examines the significance of Federico García Lorca’s creative work within the context of the cultural and artistic development of 20th-century Spain. It analyzes the influence of the poet’s and playwright’s literary legacy on the formation of national artistic consciousness, as well as its connection with Andalusian folklore traditions and the symbolic aesthetics of the era. Particular attention is paid to the concept of duende as a key category of artistic worldview, reflecting the synthesis of tragic and lyrical elements. The study emphasizes the role of Lorca’s work in renewing literary forms and in preserving Spain’s cultural identity amid the historical and social transformations of the twentieth century.
