The banking sector in Uzbekistan has undergone significant transformation in recent years, driven by economic liberalization and reforms aimed at integrating the country into the global financial system. This article evaluates the competitiveness of Uzbekistan’s banks in the global banking services market, analyzing key factors such as financial performance, regulatory frameworks, technological adoption, and market structure. Drawing on empirical studies and industry data, the paper highlights strengths, including improved liquidity and capital adequacy, and challenges, such as state dominance, limited financial innovation, and regulatory gaps. The findings suggest that while Uzbekistan’s banks have made strides toward modernization, achieving global competitiveness requires further reforms in governance, digitalization, and market liberalization.
