THE ROLE OF “TEMUR’S CODE” IN THE HISTORY OF STATE GOVERNANCE AND LEGAL THOUGHT

This article explores the role of Temur’s Code, authored by Amir Temur, in establishing state governance, enforcing legal order, and building a centralized government structure. The work, created through the synthesis of ancient Turkic-Mongol state traditions, Islamic law, and practical political experience, can be regarded as an early constitutional document. The article also highlights the reassessment of the Code during the years of independence, its status in academic discourse, and its exceptional significance in the history of Uzbek statehood.
