MODERNIZATION STRATEGIES OF THE ENERGY SECTOR IN THE CONTEXT OF A GREEN ECONOMY: CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS

This article explores the strategic modernization of the energy sector within the framework ofa green economy, focusing on the multifaceted challenges and potential solutions that can ensureecological and economic sustainability. As the global shift toward renewable energy intensifies,countries like Uzbekistan are facing urgent pressures to transition from carbon-intensive systems togreener, more efficient technologies. This paper identifies critical obstacles—including outdatedinfrastructure, investment gaps, and regulatory shortcomings—that hinder green transformation inthe energy sector. It also analyzes successful models from international experiences that offerapplicable insights for developing economies. The research employs a mixed-methods approach,integrating quantitative data analysis with expert evaluations, to examine the interplay betweenrenewable energy adoption, policy frameworks, and technological advancement. Results demonstratethat strategic policy reform, technological innovation, and financial incentivization are key pillars inachieving long-term sustainability in energy production.
