This article focuses on the role of public transport in urban planning, exploring its ecological, economic, and social significance. The study examines the state and development of the public transport system in Uzbekistan's regions, with a specific focus on the Surkhandarya region. The research discusses the role of public transport in connecting urban and rural areas, its ecological impact, the technological advancements, and the role of investments in modernizing the transport network. Additionally, the public transport system in Surkhandarya is compared with those in other regions, and the development prospects are identified.
