Linguistic and cultural characteristics of proverbs from the Khorezm oasis

Abstract.  This article explores the linguistic and cultural characteristics of proverbs from the Khorezm region. It analyzes their lexical, semantic, and pragmatic features within the context of linguistic cultural studies. The research highlights how proverbs serve as a means of reflecting the national mentality, values, worldview, and social norms of the Khorezmian people. The study is based on the classification and functional usage of proverbs in everyday speech. The findings demonstrate that Khorezm proverbs are rich in metaphorical expressions and cultural-specific elements that distinguish them within Uzbek paremiology.
