COVID-19 INFECTION AND MENTAL DISORDERS

In today's world, it is rare for a person not to have encountered a coronavirus infection. The symptoms that all individuals who have had it experience are well-known, including fever, cough, nasal discharge, difficulty breathing, and loss of smell. The impact of the coronavirus infection is not only related to its severe progression and risk of death, but also to its negative effects on human health. Patients who have undergone COVID-19 often face many negative consequences, and among the most prominent are mental, emotional, cognitive, and vegetative issues that significantly affect quality of life, slow down the rehabilitation process, and make it more difficult to return to previous activities. This article is dedicated to analyzing the diseases and syndromes related to changes in mental state commonly observed in patients who have recovered from COVID-19, with a focus on studying their causes. The material from global research into the progression of the disease and its negative effects on human life was used during the work.
