The Current State and Development Prospects of Teaching Information Technology in Medicine

This article analyzes the current state of teaching the subject of Information Technology (IT) in medical education, the challenges encountered, and promising future directions. In the modern era, the use of IT in the medical field is expanding rapidly, yet in the educational process, the subject is often not studied in depth or is seen merely as a supplement to traditional curricula.
Key issues include a shortage of qualified instructors, a lack of modern software and hardware resources, and students' insufficient knowledge of programming and data analysis. At the same time, the development of areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), telemedicine, virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) introduces innovative approaches to teaching IT in medical education.
The article also highlights proposals for integrating IT into medical education, including curriculum updates, the promotion of international cooperation, and increased focus on practical projects. Ultimately, it is emphasized that effective IT instruction can enhance the training of new specialists in healthcare and support the advancement of the healthcare system.
