N2  - This paper examines the challenges of translating French prepositions into Uzbek and the methods of determining their equivalents. Through comparative analysis, it is shown that the meanings of many prepositions vary depending on the context, which complicates direct translation. The study finds that both semantic and syntactic factors play a crucial role in selecting the most appropriate equivalent in translation. The results have practical significance for translation theory and linguistic practice.
