The study of the history of Uzbekistan must, first and foremost, begin with the investigation of the ethnogenesis and ethnic history of its people. The formation of every nation consists of specific stages, marking the beginning and the completion of the process. Various approaches to the formation of the Uzbek people have been developed by historians, which are analyzed in depth using archaeological, written, and linguistic sources.
