abstract: The article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of the stage-by-stage execution of a painted portrait within the system of art education. It reveals the main principles of portrait composition, the peculiarities of conveying facial proportions, color relationships, chiaroscuro modeling, and the psychological expressiveness of the image.
