abstract: This article analyzes the role of painting in the visual arts, its historical development stages, and its importance as a means of artistic expression. The development of painting from ancient times to the present era of modern digital technologies is highlighted, and the influence of various art directions on the development of painting is revealed. Also, the role of color, composition, and perspective in artistic expression, the psychological impact of colors, and their importance in the artist's work are explained on a scientific basis. The article discusses the harmony of traditional and modern painting styles and their role in the development of fine arts.
