Qandli diabet (QD) bu jarayonda eng muhim predispozitsion omillardan biri bo‘lib, immun javobning susayishi, mikroangiopatiya, to‘qima regeneratsiyasining buzilishi va infeksion jarayonlarning tez tarqalishi bilan peritonit kechishini og‘irlashtiradi. Klinik statistik ma’lumotlarga ko‘ra, qandli diabet bilan og‘rigan bemorlarda yiringli jarrohlik infeksiyalar 2–3 barobar ko‘proq uchraydi, peritonit rivojlanganda esa mortalitet 15–40% gacha oshishi mumkin. Ayniqsa glyukemik nazorat yomon bo‘lgan bemorlarda sepsis va ko‘p organ yetishmovchiligi tez rivojlanadi.
