N2  - This article analyzes the importance and application possibilities of geographic information systems (GIS) technologies in increasing the efficiency of water resources use. The practical results of GIS technologies in the processes of water resource management, distribution and monitoring are highlighted on the example of Surkhandarya region. The results of the study show that GIS is an important tool in reducing water waste, optimizing irrigation systems and ensuring sustainable water management.
