      "abstract": "This article presents a comparative study of the use, semantic, syntactic, and communicative functions of punctuation marks in contemporary English, Russian, and Uzbek. The study highlights the primary functions of punctuation\u2013segmentation, boundary-setting, and emphasis/indication. Examples demonstrate how punctuation marks such as commas, periods, dashes, exclamation points, and question marks influence sentence structure and meaning. The historical development, functional features, and stylistic variations of punctuation across languages are also discussed. The findings show that punctuation serves not only as a grammatical delimiter but also as a key linguistic tool shaping semantic and syntactic structure, expressing authorial stance, and ensuring textual coherence.",
