%X This article explores the pedagogical role of painting exercises in the formation of creative competence within fine arts education. Creative competence is examined as an integrated set of perceptual, cognitive, emotional, and reflective skills developed through systematic artistic practice. The study highlights how painting exercises—ranging from basic color and tonal studies to expressive compositional tasks—support visual thinking, originality, and self-expression.
