abstract: Tourism is a pivotal sector in the global economy, contributing significantly to GDP, employment, and foreign exchange earnings across developed and developing nations. This article explores the multifaceted relationship between tourism and economic development, emphasizing its role in fostering economic growth, reducing poverty, and promoting sustainable development. Drawing on empirical studies and statistical data, the paper examines the direct, indirect, and induced economic impacts of tourism, alongside challenges such as environmental degradation and economic dependency.
