As digital transformation reshapes traditional learning paradigms, the integration of educational games and gamification elements has gained momentum worldwide. Through a mixed-method approach, this study analyzes learner engagement, motivation, and language acquisition outcomes among secondary and university students in multilingual contexts. Findings indicate that game-based learning enhances vocabulary retention, communicative competence, and learner autonomy. However, the effectiveness depends on appropriate game design, learner age, and instructional integration. The study concludes with strategic recommendations for educators and policymakers to effectively integrate game-based technologies into foreign language curricula.
