%X In children infected with antibiotic-resistant strains of Escherichia coli causing acute diarrheal diseases (ADD), the illness began acutely and was accompanied by pronounced symptoms of intoxication, including weakness, lethargy, irritability, loss of appetite, sleep disturbances, nausea, and vomiting. The clinical manifestations varied depending on the severity of the disease.
