N2  - In this paper I address one of the novel areas in textile industry ? smart knitted fabrics consisting of conductive yarns. Conductive yarns make it possible for fabrics to conduct electric current which allows the integration of sensors, data transmission systems, and other responsive elements into the internal structure of the fabric. This article focuses on types, structures, properties, and fields of application of conductive yarns based on the technological analysis of some products and processes of modern manufacturing.
