abstract: This article examines the development of skills for recognizing fake information among young people. In the context of the rapid advancement of digital technologies and the active dissemination of information through social media, the problem of disinformation has become particularly relevant. The paper analyzes the concept of fake information, its types, as well as the socio-psychological and technological factors contributing to its spread. Special attention is given to the role of media literacy in countering information threats. The importance of developing critical thinking, source verification skills, and content analysis abilities is emphasized. The article also presents practical recommendations for strengthening young people’s resilience to informational manipulation.
