Conventional mechanical and chemical decontamination methods often fail to completely eradicate bacterial biofilms. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has emerged as a promising adjunctive technique that uses a photosensitizer and light energy to generate reactive oxygen species capable of destroying microorganisms.",
