(SIX CHAPTERS EXPLANATORY DICTIONARY OF THE LANGUAGE IS AN EXAMPLE)

In this article, words included in the “Explanatory Dictionary of the Uzbek Language” published in 2023 were studied without any reference to the category and words belonging to the category of onomatopoeic words were selected from among them. Based on the interpretation of words, illustrative examples and common meaning, explanations of the part of speech of imitation were given, illustrated based on examples and a list was provided for inclusion as a part of speech of imitation in subsequent editions of explanatory dictionaries with a special reference. Based on the data and conclusions obtained from the analysis of onomatopoeic words included without links in the 2023 edition, additional information and recommendations for subsequent editions of the explanatory dictionary were provided.
